My favorite quote is from my all time favorite movie. Jaws. It’s the most profound quote ever and it continually keeps things in perspective for me. When Chief Brody and shark expert Hooper are on the boat for the first time, Hooper asks Brody how a guy who hates the water came to live on an island. Brody’s response is everything.
“It’s only an island if you look at it from the water.”
When I first picked up a DSLR a few years ago, I had an idea that I wanted to do a photo session in my back yard using different areas to make it look like different backdrops. Once or twice we’ve gone back there and messed around. Once we went out in the snow. But I never got the results I was hoping for.
Then the quarantine happened.
Since Kirin is here, and being creative with makeup, I decided to give it another shot…or eighty-nine.
So take a chance. Go outside and find a space to take the shot. It’s worth the risk and no one ever has to see the results if you don’t feel like sharing. But share anyway. We need more beautiful things to focus on right now. Send me a message so I can see what you’re working on!!
